A Week of Networking and Empowerment: Finnish Film Affair and Women in Film WIFTI Summit 2023 in Helsinki

This week Finnish film industry events are set to make a great impact on the film industry. Finnish Film Affair (FFA) and Women in Film WIFTI’s global Summit 2023 are located in Helsinki back-to-back. Finnish Film Affair is the industry event of the 36th Helsinki International Film Festival – Love and Anarchy that offers 141 feature and 163 short films that will be screened during 11 days it lasts.

First launched in 2012, the Finnish Film Affair (FFA) has become the most international film professional's event of the year in Finland. The event will take place on 20-22 September 2023, in Helsinki. Filmmakers, production companies, and industry professionals from around the world will come together to engage in industry sessions, attend discussions and showcases, and network while also building relationships within the industry.

The program of Finnish Film Affair (FFA) includes a multitude of activities that aim to give insights into the Nordic film industry. Second day, Thursday is devoted to pitches showcasing upcoming Finnish and Nordic projects.

Following FFA, Women in Film and TV Finland will organize the global WIFTI Summit from 23-24 September 2023. The Hanasaari Cultural Center in the inner city archipelago of Helsinki will host this annual international conference. The conference theme focuses on promoting gender equality in the media and entertainment industry. This event will bring women in the film industry together to exchange ideas and discuss issues facing women in the field. The event is also a platform for WIFT Finland's equality tool which will be launched during the autumn of 2023.
