Finland ranks highest in happiness, technology and sustainable development

To kick off the 2023 it’s a great time to look back and see how Finland did it according to international comparisons of all kinds. High ranking placements obviously link with the Finnish business environment and for example producing audiovisual content in a modern and sustainable manner. In their recent article Good News from Finland put some of the most valuable rankings together.

Finland topped the World Happiness Report for the fifth time in a row in 2022. This year’s edition even pointed out that Finland had a score “significantly ahead of the other countries in the top ten”. Finland placed fifth also in the Good Country Index, an annual study that examines how nations contribute to the common good of humanity. In this ranking Finland’s highest placements came from categories of planet and climate, prosperity and equality, science and technology, as well as health and wellbeing.

Finland claims it’s one of the technology leaders in the world and indeed: Finland ranked the highest in the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI), the European Union’s annual evaluation of digital performance and digitalization progress.

Finland has top rankings also for example in gender equality, sustainability, anti-corruption, and innovation.
